Some personal information; my name is G. Christopher (Chris) Schabel. I live in San Antonio Texas. I went to high school at NMMI, and college at the University of Maryland in Frankfurt Germany, where I studied economics and foreign affairs. I also attended the University of Texas at El Paso,  and the University of Texas at San Antonio where I studied political science with a concentration in economics.  Between classes, I dabbled with my 486 computer learning the fundamentals of web design and development. After a brief internship at the Economic Development Department in San Antonio, I began working at Internet Direct as a web designer. This led to a dot-com start-up called IFORCE Interactive, and shortly thereafter, into a webmaster position at Karta Technologies.
Eventually, I began working with Tricare, Health Affairs, and other large Department of Defense (DoD) organizations in Washington D.C., where I published information architectures in both the DoD and Zachman frameworks to the web. Working on DoD projects gave me experience in accessibility and 508 compliance, which I used during an 18 month contract as a web producer at USAA.
I currently work at Frost Bank developing internal web applications, and as an independent contractor, specializing in web application design and development, accessibility, and 508 compliance. During my free time I enjoy riding my scooter, playing disc golf, and analyzing political and socioeconomic issues.
